(In the beginning)

This
epic adventure begins with you in Candlekeep standing
in front of the Candlekeep Inn. Walk to the north east until you find a woman by the name
of Phlydia she will proceed to tell you how forgetful she is and that she left her book
someplace and asks if would you kindly find it for her.
Gorion is
waiting for you on the steps of the library in the inner grounds. He is going to tell you
that you have to get ready for a trip. You can tell him that you are not ready just yet
and return later and keep exploring Candlekeep some more to gather more gold or you can go
with him now.
Once you decide to go with him
the computer takes over and you watch the events unfold...

You now find
yourself standing outside of the Camp Site and you meet Iomen again. She asks if she could
join your group and I would recommend that you take her up on it. She is a pretty good
thief and, not to mention, she is also your step-sister. Check out her stats.
Once you accept Iomen into your group (you really don't
have to, it will not effect the story at all. As a matter of fact you do not have to take
anyone with you at all. I've completed it alone) head due north to an area with 4 circles of stone on the ground. This is where
you are going to find the dead body of your father, Gorion. Clear the are of all the stuff
and read the scroll you find on his body.
Xzar
(hehe I lost his picture) Montaron
Continue to travel east-northeast along the road and
you will find 2 men Xzar and Montaron. If you treat them
with respect and your Charisma is not too low they will join with you. They do have a
quest they are working on and they want your help, but if you tell them that you have to
meet someone first, they will follow you without too much trouble. They are wanting to go
to Nashkel to check out some reports of trouble and you will be going there any ways. If
you chose a good alignment for your character you should not keep them too long however.
Just use them long enough to get through to the Friendly Arm Inn. Exit the area through the east and go to the Cross Roads.
From here travel due North and exit this map. Go to the
Friendly Arm Inn.
You are now at the Friendly Arm Inn watch out, because
as soon as you get to the steps you will have your first encounter with a Bounty Hunter.
Tarnesh
Tarnesh is a mage and he is pretty strong. The best
advice is to remember that starting fights in the towns is illegal. If a fight breaks out
the town guards will come and fight the one who started it. (Be careful with area effect
spells. If a commoner is killed then the guards will turn on you. This will make things
fun in the expansion pack because we will be able to use Cloud Kill. I am sure that many a
commoner will be killed by mistake.) Use the guards to your advantage. Kill him and take
his stuff. He is carrying 3 scrolls, Burning Hands, Armor and Magic Missile. Now go ahead
and go into the Inn. If you lost a character you can go next door to the Temple and bring
him back.
Khalid
Jaheira
In the top left hand corner of the room you will find
Khalid and Jaheira, they are the 2 people that Gorion wants you to meet. They will join
your party if you want them to. Once they join you will be making a trip to the Nashkel
Mines. Sell off all your junk to the barkeep, get some rest and head back out side. Exit
through the front gates and exit this map from the south to the Cross Roads.
Once there follow the road south
and you will meet Aoln. He is a hunter who spends way too much time out in the field. He
is very wise in the ways of these woods and will give you an idea on what creatures lurk
here. Once finished talking to him keep to the roads and continue south. After you see the
big sign post continue south and watch for bandits. They are out there and their arrows
hurt.
Exit the are to the south and head for Beregost. Once there walk straight through
town and exit south to the woods.
Keep going south and exit to the mountains north of Nashkel.
Once there follow the road south you will meet up with
a band of Hobgoblins. I think there are about 4 or 5 of them, take them out quickly
because they are archers and they will pick you apart from afar. Kill them, get their
stuff and continue making your way south. Exit and go to Nashkel.
And that is the end of Chapter 1
Congratulations!
